National Women in Sport Week
This week marks National Women in Sport Week, an initiative that highlights the importance of women’s participation, visibility, and leadership in sport across Ireland.
In Tipperary, women’s Gaelic games continue to grow at both club and county level, with players representing their communities with commitment and pride. Teams such as Tipperary Camogie and Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football play a vital role in promoting the game and encouraging more young girls to get involved in sport.
There are two exciting fixtures taking place this weekend as supporters look ahead to important games:
- Tipperary vs Waterford in the U23 Munster Semi-Final will take place on Sunday 8th March at 2pm in SETU Waterford Arena.
- Tipperary vs Galway in camogie will take place on Saturday 7th March at 3pm at the Tipperary County Camogie Grounds.
- Tipperary Ladies Football will also be back in action later this month, when they face Donegal on March 22nd
As a town closely connected with Gaelic games, Thurles continues to support the growth of women’s sport at every level. Hayes’ Hotel is proud to be part of a community where sport plays such an important role.
National Women in Sport Week is a reminder of the progress being made and the opportunities ahead for future generations of athletes.
